Quiche Pie


Though most people think that quiche pie is a French dish, the French actually modified the traditional food of the Germans called “kuchen” which literally means, “little cake” to come up with this kind of food that everyone loves. Nowadays, there many variations and versions of this sumptuous food which you can actually eat anytime of the day like breakfast, lunch or dinner, or serve it as an entrée or as a main dish. Quiche pie is traditionally made of eggs, milk and cream baked on a pie crust but now more ingredients as “fillings” were introduced to this simple yet delightfully good food.

The basic egg and cream quiche pie looks like an egg pie; cheese is not a traditional ingredient of a quiche pie. People can now enjoy this food from meaty fillings of ham and bacon or vegetarian choices of broccoli and spinach. Some can go for lighter meats like chicken and fish or combination of meat and vegetables. As time flies, making a quiche pie becomes easier and faster; the main ingredients only need to mixed and cooked well while you can always buy frozen pie crusts in groceries and supermarkets. Lastly, a quiche pie especially those with vegetables like broccoli and spinach are great food choices for those people who are picky when it comes to vegetables.
